Baling Straw The Old Fashioned Way
A sound thrashing. It's 2012 in Cambridgeshire and they are baling like their forebears. Not for them the joys of modern farming technology. Far more fun, the spinning wheels of death and fury, the parching dust of the hay and the quenching ale at the end of the day. [A colour version of this shot won third prize in a local photographic competition in August 2014]
Listen. If you had to live in this stable instead of running about in a lovely field with your mane and tail flowing in the wind, you'd be a bit pissed off too, now wouldn't you?
